On August 19, 1965 the plaintiff, Dr. Joseph Hodge went into contract with the defendant, George A Shea, regarding the sale of land. The respondent obtained the rights to purchase 20 acres of the 125 acre land. The price, as calculated by the circuit court, was $ 361.72 per acre. The terms of the contract required that the respondent offsets the cost of the land by giving his Cadillac 6600 and an additional $4000. Mr. Shea was to give his old car and 20 acres of the land.
